Melissa Burciaga enjoys reading memoirs, biographies, no
vels and young adult fiction. In her spare time she enjoys singing and dancing with her daughter, writing, and spending time with friends. Her career goals are to write a memoir and a novela.
Frances Cabigas enjoy’s reading gothic and horror fiction, blogs, online articles and memoirs. These are her favorites because she admires the creativity, individuality, and self -interpretation that occurs when reading those particular genres. Creative writing, blogs and articles are most enjoyable for her to write because of the freedom and self-reflection that can be incorporated within her own writing. On her spare time she enjoys spending time with her daughter, staying active, and being outdoors.
Sadie Miller enjoys reading books from the nonfiction genre, primarily memoirs and autobiographies. Some of her favorite authors include Tim Keller, John Piper, Elyse Fitzpatrick, and Ravi Zacharias. Sadie’s desire is to become an editor and work with publishers where she will have the chance to edit these authors’ manuscripts. She is excited about the experience she will gain as an editor for the #Femalegaze journal. In her spare time, Sadie loves reading, listening to music, and spending time with friends.
Alicia Montellanos enjoys reading philosophy and nonfiction books, although her guilty pleasure is rereading The Lord of the Rings trilogy while dressed as a hobbit. She’s working toward a Master’s degree in Philosophy at SDSU, and writing her thesis on the ethics of restorative justice involved in trans activist accounts of prison abolition. She is becoming a volunteer facilitator for Las Colinas Women’s Detention Facility this November. Alicia’s hobbies include playing guitar, going to concerts, and writing concert reviews. She has an unhealthy obsession with Blonde Redhead and is very excited for Transparent‘s season two and Portlandia‘s season six premieres.
